CALENDAR AMENDMENTS

 

The final weeks of the season have seen some amendments, currently these have been amended under the Premier League Fixtures and will be amended on all the fixture pages.

 

The teams qualifying for the playoffs will be displayed in the next few days as points are tallied and teams jostle for those final positions!

 

Can any teams that have postponed fixtures in Division One and Division Two ensure these are played.

Dukes Head

DUKES HEAD GENTLEMAN'S EVENING - WEDNESDAY 27TH MARCH, 2013

 

For those of you seeking a night away from the pool table, our friends at the Dukes Head Pub in Sandhurst have asked us to let you know that they'll be holding a Gentleman's Evening this Wednesday 27th March. The evening's entertainment consists of an assortment of delightful young ladies together with a no doubt excellent comedian. And if all that wasn't enough, they'll even lay on some curry for you.

 

What price for such a wonderous evening I hear you say ? THE BOOT B HAVE WITHDRAWN FROM DIVISION ONE

 

Will all Division One Teams please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, The Boot B have been forced to withdraw from the BDPL Winter League in advance of the first week of Fixtures. 

 

As a result, the William Twigg B will have no fixture this week. We are however hopeful that a replacement Team can be found in time for next week's fixtures and all Division One Teams will be notified further if this proves to be the case.

 

INAUGURAL BDPL WINTER LEAGUE SEASON STARTS THIS WEEK

 

The Inaugural BDPL Winter League Season kicks off this Thursday 25th October and sees thirty Teams across three Divisions. For those Teams new to the League, can we remind you that matches commence at 8:30pm and it is courteous for the Home Team to provide food at the half-way point of the Match.

 

Can all Teams please ensure that Results are text to the Fixtures & Results Secretary, Jamie Newington on 07920 753 712 ideally on the night but certainly no later than the Friday evening following the Match. Scorecards are to be received no later than the Saturday following the Match, and whilst a clear photograph of the Scorecard is acceptable, hard copies must be retained for later collection.

 

We are looking to announce several new developments during the course of the Season so please keep checking the website for updates.

 

In the meantime, we wish all of our Teams the best of luck for the forthcoming Season.

BDPL PRESENTATION EVENING - THURSDAY 18TH OCTOBER

 

Can we please remind all Teams that the Summer League Presentation Evening is scheduled for Thursday 18th October and will be held at 8pm at the William Twigg to coincide with the Winter League Registration Evening.

 

We have also now obtained the majority of trophies from the previous B.A.P.L Winter League Seasons 2010-11 and 2011-12 and the Summer League 2011 and these will also be presented. All Trophy Recipients have now been contacted and we would encourage all those to attend wherever possible.

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR INAUGURAL BDPL WINTER LEAGUE SEASON PASSES

 

The deadline for registrations for the Inaugural Bracknell & District Pool League Winter League Season has now passed and following an excellent uptake, a total of 30 teams have confirmed their participation.

 

We would like to extend an especially warm welcome to several new teams this Season, namely the Dukes Head, the Goose, the Crown Wood and the Cannie Man as well as two new teams from the Woodcutters and Royal Oak.

 

WINTER LEAGUE REGISTRATION EVENING

 

Can we please remind all teams that the Winter League Registration Evening will be held at the William Twigg this Thursday 18th October at 8pm.

 

Whilst we would ask that all Captains attend this Meeting, any other players wishing to do so are also welcome to attend. 

 

The purpose of the Meeting will be primarily to hand out Winter League Information Packs which will comprise a Fixture List, Score Cards, Team Contact List and for new Teams, a copy of the League Constitution, Contact Details for the current Committee and a full copy of the EPA World Rules.

 

However, it will also be an opportunity for anyone with any queries or suggestions regarding the League to engage with the Committee. Remember, the ethos of the League is to be as open, honest and transparent as possible so don't feel that there are questions you can't ask, each Committee Member will be present and happy to respond to any points raised. 

  

NEW BDPL INAUGURAL WINTER LEAGUE SEASON TO START ON THURSDAY 25TH OCTOBER, 2012

 

With the BDPL Summer League drawing to a successful conclusion, preparations are now being made for the first ever BDPL Winter League Season which is scheduled to start on Thursday 25th October, 2012. Registration Forms will be emailed to existing BDPL Teams tomorrow and all completed Registration Forms and Entry Fees must be received by Thursday 11th October.

 

Each participating Team will be required to attend a Registration Evening on Thursday 18th October whereupon hard copies of the Season's Fixtures, Team Contact Details, Scorecards and League Constitution will be distributed. The Summer League Presentation will also be held on this evening.

OVERDUE SUMMER LEAGUE REGISTRATION FEES

 

With the BDPL Summer League now approaching Week 10, we are still awaiting payment of a small number of Team Registration Fees. With this being the inaugural Season, all Teams will appreciate that there have been an element of start-up costs which we have had to cover. Moreover, in an effort to ensure that the Presentation Evening is held only a week after the Summer League Finals, we are
currently ordering trophies now for engraving after the Final Week and therefore it is essential that we have the maximum funds at our disposal.

 

Following the recent Committee Meeting, it has been agreed that any teams qualifying for the Summer League Knock-out Stages who have not paid their Registration Fees will not be permitted to progress. Therefore, will any Team whose Registration Fees have not yet been paid in full please arrange for payment as soon as possible.

 

MOLLY MILLAR A WITHDRAW

 

We are disappointed to have to advise all Group C Teams that the Molly Millar A have been forced to withdraw from the Summer League due to persistant issues with player availability.

 

All previous results will be expunged and any future fixture involving the Molly Millar A will now become a free week. The Fixtures and Results and Latest Tables will be updated to reflect this shortly.

 

With the earlier withdrawal of The Cricketers, we realise that Group C has already been disrupted by an abundance of byes and we apologise for the further fixture disruption that the Millar's withdrawal will now cause.

 

RESULTS AND SCORECARDS

 

Can we please remind all teams to ensure that Results and Scorecards are provided to the Fixtures Secretary in a timely fashion.

 

All Results should be texted to Jamie Newington 07920 753 712 on the evening of the Match or by Friday morning at the very latest.

 

All Scorecards should be completed and sent either by post to the address on the reverse of the Sheet or text as a photo image to Jamie Newington by Friday evening at the very latest.

 

Whilst we've decided not to impose points deductions for late receipt of Results and Scorecards during the Summer League, these will be imposed during the Winter League so best to get in the habit now.

 

Receiving Results late delays publication of the latest Tables and although they are not being compiled during the Summer League Season, the Scorecards are essential for compiling the Player Performance Statistics - which are a requirement of the Berkshire County Pool Association.

 

NOTICE OF BDPL COMMITTEE MEETING

 

The first Committee Meeting of the Summer League Season has been scheduled for Sunday 22nd July, 2012 and will be held at 8pm at the William Twigg. Should any BDPL Registered Player wish to attend, they are welcome to do so by prior appointment with the Committee. Should you wish to attend, please contact any of the Committee Members whose contact details can be found in the Committee Section or by following this link. Similarly, should you wish to propose an item for discussion at the meeting, please feel free to contact any Committee Member.

 

Minutes of the Meeting will be published on the Website, excluding any matters which are deemed confidential.

 

EPA MEN & WOMEN'S NATIONAL AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012

 

Details of the forthcoming 2012 EPA Men's and Women's National Amateur Champships have now been received from Berkshire. The Men's Competition will be held on Thursday 4th - Friday 5th October whilst the Ladies' Competition will be held on Thursday 8th - Friday 9th November. Both Competitions will be held at The Vauxhall Holiday Park, Great Yarmouth.
